After lunch we had a surprise entertainment by Fabienne Borget
First half (as herself):
- "Flower duet" from Lakmé (Delibes)
- "Quando me'n vo" from La Bohème (Puccini)
- "Vissi d’arte" from Tosca (Puccini)
- "Summertime" from Porgy and Bess (Gershwin)
- "Love unspoken" from The Merry Widow (Lehàr)
- "Un bel di vedremo" from Madam Butterfly (Puccini)
- "Barcarolle" from The Tales of Hoffmann (Offenbach)
- "Brindisi" from La Traviata (Verdi)
Second half (as "Fabarotti"):
- "Nessun dorma" from Turandot (Puccini)
- "Voi che sapete" from The Marriage of Figaro (Mozart)
- "Brindisi" (again) from La Traviata
We felt that Fabienne added an extra sparkle to our special day.
Our guests (many of whom are far better music critics than ourselves)
were full of praise both for her singing and for her special brand
of audience interaction.
